How To Make Your Resolutions Stick

The number one pitfall in making your New Year’s resolutions is that they are not realistic. Your goals have to be attainable and that you can measure them. The First step is to develop an action plan-step by step- for exactly how to get there. Then be sure to make your environment supportive of those goals.

For example, if you decide your New Year’s resolution is that you will eat more fruits and vegetables, just saying this is not enough because is too broad. Most people start with good intentions, however, a high percentage of them won’t be able to accomplish this because they have no plan.

Make a goal that is realistic and quantifiable such as adding a fruit after lunch and a vegetable at dinner for at least twice a week.  Since you are promising yourself to do this only two days a week, you have a much better chance of success, which will do wonders for your morale. You’ll feel like a winner.

Remember always start low and work yourself up and in no time you’ll be eating fruits and vegetables everyday!
