Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • ½ medium yellow onion diced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1 pound 90/10 ground beef
  • ½ cup basil sliced
  • 4 scallions green and white parts, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup mushrooms finely chooped
  • 1 medium avocado seeded and diced
  • 2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • Head lettuce to wrap

Instructions

  • In a medium skillet over medium heat, heat the oil. Add the yellow onion and sauté for about 2 minutes. Then add garlic, and ginger and sauté for 2 minutes
  • Add the ground beef or the raw beef and cook for about 7 min
  • Stir in the basil, scallions, carrots, mushrooms, avocado, soy sauce, sesame seeds, balsamic glaze, and salt, and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Carefully remove the lettuce leaves. Divide the ground beef mixture, placing 2-3 tablespoons of the beef mixture into two lettuce leaves. Serve warm.
